Improve the health and economic situation of small and medium salt producers in developing countries.
To support efforts to improve production of quality, affordable iodized salt and to develop replicable business models that will contribute to higher income for small and medium salt producers and their families as well as to the global elimination of iodine deficiency.
SPBS is a dedicated venture designed to help small and medium salt farmers and industries in emerging countries to produce, distribute and sell quality, iodized salt. SPBS consulting provides a flexible approach, a unique combination of experiences and backgrounds and competitive pricing. SPBS members’ expertise are cross-cutting and span across the salt production, distribution and commercialization fields. SPBS objective is to support salt producers in quality management, branding and sustainability.
- We help new companies (LLC or cooperatives) in setting-up their operations with market studies, business models, supply chain analysis, distribution, etc.
- We provide the technical know-how training in order to adequately iodize, quality control and pack salt.
- We support salt producers in branding and marketing their products on local markets.
- We are very conscious of environmental issues and strive to offer innovative and eco-friendly packing and distribution options.
SPBS also supports INGOs and governments to bring to scale the Universal Salt Iodization (USI) global program for the elimination of Iodine Deficiency Disorder (IDD).
SPBS is a group of dedicated and knowledgeable professionals, each specialized in diverse fields that complement one another. All members of SPBS have numerous years of experience in salt production technology, salt iodization, food fortification, business development, finance and professionalization of producer’s organizations, including cooperatives. Each comes with decades of international experience providing technical advisory services and consulting to governments and international non-governmental organizations in all above areas.
